Join our Board of Trustees
Although a member of the national Citizens Advice network, we are an independent charity and have our own board of trustees. These trustees are responsible for the vision, mission and management of the charity. Specifically, they:
- Employ the Chief Officer and paid staff to manage our team of volunteers and the day-to-day operations of the charity
- With the CEO, they set the overall direction and support the development of the organisation
- Work to maintain the Performance and Quality Framework set through the national Citizens Advice network
- Make sure our work complies with relevant charity (and other) laws
- Manage the finances
- Ensure we comply with legal, accounting and reporting requirements
- Hold the staff to account to make sure we are meeting the needs of the local community
- Work with the Chief Officer to ensure the organisation has the resources needed to help and support the local community
- Make sure that there is regular and effective communication with stakeholders about the charity’s purposes, work, and achievements
We are always looking to recruit trustees with relevant experience, including in finance, law, management and communications – so please get in touch here if you would like to join us.
